Mole

Who doesn’t want flawless skin?! But almost on one can ever own one as blemishes such as moles surprise us and appear on the skin, spoiling the appearance.

Mole

Nearly everyone has a mole on their body, on average, each person has around 20 moles. Mole is caused by a cluster of melanocytes on the skin or abnormal increase of the melanin.

Mole, or nevus as medical term, is made up of cells called melanocytes. It is usually located in the dermo-epidermal junction or the dermis. It can be divided into 3 types based on their locations: junctional, mixed and dermal mole.

Causes

The cause of mole is still not clear, but it is thought to be the below factors:

1.Genetics factors

Some people are more prone to moles than others. Also, genetically speaking, girls over 5 years old tend to have rice grain-sized spots developed heavily in spring and summer, and lightly in autumn and winter.

2. Hormonal change

Hormonal change in the body during puberty, female menstrual cycles, and pregnancy can cause new moles to grow.

3. Extended exposure to the Sun

Long exposure to the Sun promotes the production of melanin by skin cells called melanocytes in order to protect your skin from sun damage. Melanin is the pigment in our skin and the main material of forming a mole. On the other hand, UV radiation can darken existing spots on your skin.

4. Unhealthy lifestyle

The effect of stress and unhealthy diet and lifestyles are accumulated over time, until the mole appears on the skin.

5. Mental health

People who have been depressed and emotionally unstable for a long period of time, their melanocyte-stimulating hormone level increases to a high level, resulting in an increase in melanin in the skin, which will make spots and moles on the skin become visible.

Symptoms

Classifications:

①Junctional Mole

The junctional moles are located at the junction of the epidermis and dermis. They appear flat and brown to black in colour.

② Mixed Mole

Mixed moles can be found at the junction of the epidermis and dermis. They are slightly raised and brown to black in colour.

③ Dermal Mole

Dermal moles are located at the dermis. They are dome-shaped and flesh-coloured, some may have hair.

Morphology:

Small mole: An ordinary, small mole.

Hairy mole: A mole that is slightly raised or has hair on it, or both.

Large mole: A mole with a large pigmented area.  Darker moles are more likely to turn into melanoma.

Treatment

Laser is currently the least invasive treatment that can effectively remove a mole.

A, Laser Mole Removal

What is Laser Mole Removal:

The laser mole removal treatment at the Ai Beauty Clinic helps effectively remove moles from the skin surface. The high energy laser beam emitted from the laser gun will be absorbed by the water molecules in the skin, the resulting high energy removes the outer layer of skin and encourages new skin and collagen to grow.

Principle:

Nanosecond-lasting strong light pulse generated by a laser will penetrate through skin and reach and get absorbed by melanin molecules, without harming surrounding skin tissue. After the energy absorption process, melanin molecules will be broken down into small melanin granules and transported out of the body. Through our natural body immune process, these small melanin granules will be carried away from the skin and removed from our body, with the help of skin immune cells macrophages.

Procedure:

1. Face-to-face consultation: Develop unique treatment plan based on client’s condition and expectation.

2. Patch test: Perform a patch test 24 hrs prior to the treatment. Proceed with the treatment when no allergy or abnormal reaction is shown.

3. Preparation: Apply anaesthetics externally. Clean and disinfect the treatment areas. Put on safety goggles.

4. Laser treatment: Complete the laser emission at the treatment area, repeat steps at severe areas. Cooling effect from cold air outlets to cool down the skin surface.

5. Post-treatment: Apply aloe vera gel to soothe and calm down the treated areas.

Duration: 1 hr

Who is it for:

  • People who want to remove their mole, milia and acne.
  • People who want to reduce their syringoma, sebaceous hyperplasia, neoplasia and skin tag.

  • People who want to get rid of acne scars, traumatic scars, or chickenpox scars.

Ai Beauty Laser Mole Removal:

Erbium chrome laser has tenth to thirteenth lower thermal effect than carbon dioxide laser, making it a better laser that causes less thermal damage to the skin, induces less discomfort during treatment, has shorter downtime, and promotes collagen growth.
